Welcome To Our

Community Page

I truly believe we are all called to serve a higher purpose than ourselves.

Individually, we can only do so much. Together, we can make a tremendous positive impact in the lives of others.

Almost 2 decades ago, I felt a call from God to step outside my comfort zone to help hurting people in my community. I wasn’t sure what that fully meant, at first.

I only knew that I had to reach out to those in pain in order to help them to regain their dignity, and to find their way to a more blessed life.

Up till that point, I had always been a business executive or an entrepreneur. Outside of my involvement in my church, I had never run a community organization or any other group involved in community work.

The only thing I knew was that I was called to make a difference.

From A

Small Seed

So, I recruited a team and we started a food pantry from a small closet in the back of our church.

Within a short period of time, it was clear that God had bigger plans.

  • We created a nonprofit org

  • We recruited a Board

  • We began to raise money

  • We moved from the church

We were now on a mission to provide hope and healing through job assistance programs, biblical counseling, a food pantry and a women’s empowerment center.

The community responded and a dream was born that has helped thousands in their most dire time of need.

You may have s similar dream. It may seem impossible. It did for me.

But with God, nothing is impossible!

Let's talk if you'd like to learn more.

The Dream Expanded

We saw homeless people find employment and a new way of life.

Battered women regained their futures.

Families were kept intact.

Ordinary people did extraordinary things in service to their communities.

They chose to think bigger than their individual lives.

They organized food drives.

They petitioned their companies, trusts and foundations on behalf of the less fortunate.

They organized toiletry and toy drives for our women and children.

It’s amazing to see the goodwill that is unleashed when we choose to serve our communities.

We saw young people, neighbors, churches, businesses, government agencies, and civic organizations come together.

At Sharon Gill International, that dream to impact our communities through giving lives on!

Young Doctor

A mind is a terrible thing to waste.”®

For more than seven decades, this principle has remained at the heart of UNCF, enabling us to raise more than $5 billion and help more than 500,000 students and counting not just attend college, but thrive, graduate and become leaders.

We do this in three ways: By awarding more than 10,000 students scholarships, worth more than $100 million, each year. By providing financial support to 37 historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs). And by serving as the nation’s leading advocate for the importance of minority education and community engagement.

Join Us In Serving

A part of our business model is teaching what we call Purpose-Centered Leadership
The heart of Purpose-Centered Leadership is calling business owners, executives, and leaders to a standard of leadership that is bigger than any single leader,

It involves working for and working towards goals that are transformational to individuals and communities.

Purpose-centered leaders see serving people and the world around them as integral to their personal and corporate identities.

It is not a label that gets placed on certain events and activities as an after-thought.

Or as feel-good messaging.
Rather, it is a philosophy of service. It places values over sheer victory, impact over isolation, and people over profit.

Not that these organizations aren't profitable. Quite the opposite. Studies now show that organizations of purpose outrank their competitors in employee retention and customer loyalty.
It pays to be purposeful!
If you'd like to form a purpose-centered company or take your existing company to the next level, let's talk!
